Instruction for Conference Presenters

I. Main Conference Papers

-Presentation Time

Each regular paper has 23 minutes for presentation and 7 minutes for discussion. The Session Chair will flash a sign to remind the presenter at 7, 3, and 1 minute(s) before the end of each presentation (i.e. at the 16, 20, and 22 minutes marks). For each 3-paper session, there are 5 extra minutes allotted to allow for transitions.

 

-Equipments Provided:

For each conference room, COLING2002 will provide one overhead projector, one LCD projector and one PC computer.  Each computer is equipped with CDROM and floppy disk (Please note that there is NO Internet Connection).  Adobe Acrobat Reader, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Internet Explorer will be installed in this computer.

 

II. Workshop  Papers

The same as above, except that presentation times are set by organizers of each workshop and will vary. Please check with your workshop organizers for details.

 

III. Main Conference Posters:

-Poster Room will be Room C (lecture rooms 404 & 405 at Howard International House)

 

-Presentation Time for Main Conference Poster Presenters

For each poster, there will be a brief oral presentation of 5 minutes at the beginning of each poster session. The poster session chair will remind the presenter when time is up

 

Equipments Provided

A poster board of about 150cm (width) by 90cm (height) will be provided for each poster.  The poster board is made by cork.  The Conference Secretariat will provide thumbtacks for posting.  Equipments for oral presentation are the same as regular papers.

 

-Poster Preparation

You may mount your poster and prepare during the Coffee break.  In order to allow for transitions between Poster Sessions, please set up your poster before the beginning of the poster session and remove it right after the end of session.

 

III. Workshop Posters:

The same as above, except that

* Workshop posters will be posted right at each workshop site.

* Workshop posters will not have oral presentation time.
